I started this blog to familiarize people about the industry of blogging ( creating online journals) and how to promote these online journals in addition to the variety of ways to monetize and to make money a lot of money from these small websites called blogs,


Why All the Buzz about blogs?

Blogs has made a huge buzz in the internet since a couple years ago, many people started using them for publishing their thoughts, ideas and doing business. The interest in blogs comes from several features that only exist in blogs:

1- Blogs are easy to use : Blogs are created with pre-made websites called blog templates, and most of them are similar in the way of usage and design, some of the most popular blog types are Wordpress, Blogger, and MovableType these templates are free of charge open source scripts that can be used by blogger without knowing anything about programming, PHP or HTML the only thing you have to do is write your posts copy and syndicate the blog using feed processors like feedburner.

2- Blogs are automatic traffic tools : the process of syndication alone will bring you traffic for each post you submit, because there are other sites that will use feed from feed processors as part of its content, which means that you will have an ad to your blog in thousands of sites and traffic will come to your blog through these ads.

3- Blogs posts get caught by Search Engines quickly : Blogs are easy to change and a good blogger will submit a post at least 3 times a week, when a search engine indexes a page and finds out that its content have changed from last time, the next indexing will be at half the time it first indexed the page, till it gets so frequent that it indexes your page every single day. When you reach that rate your blog posts will take you one day to appear in the search results

4- The effect of Social Media : Blogs and Social bookmarking sites like digg, stumbleupon are tightly connected, and a clever blogger who can get his post on the first page of digg, will get tens of thousands of visitors in one day. The whole idea is to create buzz about the post or story you published and get other diggers to vote for it.

5- Blogs Make Money : Yes, they can make you money if you get enough targetted traffic from search engines, and you can use variety of techniques to make money from adsense ads to affiliate links or selling your own product.

6- Blogs can be as cheap as FREE! : Blogger and Wordpress offers free subdomain hosting for your blogs, you can have 5 blogger blogs for free.

7- Blogs are Web 2.0 tools : Bloggs and feed are becoming more automated and pluggable all over the internet and these tools will really change the way the internet is working in the next coming years.

So blogs are very effective ways of getting traffic and starting online business, I recomment using blogs if you are in hurry or you don't have the budget to start a domain.
